¡Hola, confettis!

Octubre ya está aquí y yo ya solo puedo pensar en una cosa: Halloween! Es una de mis celebraciones favoritas, y es que me encanta esta época del año. Si con el otoño llegan los jerséis, los pumpkin spice latte y las velas, Halloween pone la guinda al pastel. Los disfraces, los caramelos, hacer truco o trato, las decoraciones... ¿Lo mejor? Poder incluir toda la cultura y las tradiciones dentro de mi clase y disfrutar con mis peques. ¡Si es que tenemos el mejor trabajo del mundo!

October has just began and I can only think about one thing: Halloween! It's one of my favourite festivities as I love this time of the year. If autumn brings cosy jumpers, pumpkin spice lattes and candles, Halloween puts the icing on the cake. Costumes, sweets, trick-or-treating, decor... The best part? I can include all the culture and traditions in my class and have fun with my kids. We have the best job in the world!

Y ¿qué es lo que no puede faltar en clase mientras hacemos actividades de Halloween? ¡Música! Así que aquí vengo con una lista de canciones indispensables para crear un ambiente... ¡escalofriante!

And what is a must while we carry out our Halloweeny activities in class? Music! So here I come with an essential list of songs for setting a spooky mood!

1. Who Took The Candy?

Esta canción es mi SUPERMEGAFAVORITA. ¿Por qué? Porque l@s alumn@s pueden interactuar entre ell@s intentando descubrir quién ha cogido los caramelos de la bolsa de las chuches. ¿Cómo? A cada alumn@ se le da una tarjetita con su disfraz (bruja, vampiro, fantasma...). Además, uno de ell@s tendrá la tarjetita con los caramelos. Así, a medida que van cantando la canción, deberán de ir diciendo el nombre de todos los disfraces hasta dar con aquel que se ha llevado los caramelos ¡por todo el morro!

This is my SUPERMEGAFAVOURITE one. Why? Because students can interact between them trying to guess who took the candy from the trick-or-treat bag. How? Each student will get a card with their costume (witch, vampire, ghost...). In addition, one of them with have the candy card. That way, as they sing the song, they will have to name the different costumes until they discover who was so cheeky that they took the candy!

2. Knock Knock, Trick or Treat?

¡Toc, Toc! ¿Quién es? Abre la puerta y podrás dar caramelos a todos los niños y niñas que irán pasando toda la noche por tu puerta. Un fantasma, un vaquero, un monstruo de dos cabezas, una bailarina... ¿Te atreverás a abrir?

Knock, knock! Who is it? Open the door and you will give sweets to every boy and girl that will knock on your door throughout the Halloween night. A ghost, a cowboy, a two-headed monster, a ballerina... Will you dare to open?

4. Down By The Spooky Bay

Esta canción es genial para trabajar las palabras que riman utilizando vocabulario de Halloween. Acompaña a un monstruito viendo cosas la mar de extrañas en la bahía donde crecen las calabazas: a ghost eating some toast, a bat dancing with a rat, a vampire making a camp fire...

This song is great for working on rhyming words using Halloween vocabulary. Join a little monster on a walk down the spooky bay where pumpkins grow and see a ghost eating some toast, a bat dancing with a rat, a vampire making a camp fire...

5. Baby Shark Halloween

¡Cómo no! Baby Shark no podía faltar en esta lista, ahora con temática de Halloween. Esta vez mummy shark lleva a sus crías a hacer truco o trato en el fondo del mar pero... ¡cuidado! Nunca sabes quién puede estar acechando en la noche más terrorífica del año.

Of course! Baby Shark had to make it to this list, now in a Halloweeny version. This time, mummy shark takes her baby sharks trick-or-treating under the sea but... be careful! You never know who might be lurking in the most terrifying of the year.

6. Five Little Monsters Jumping On The Bed

Otra versión adaptada para Halloween. Si en la original son monos los que saltan en la cama y se golpean en la cabeza, en esta son unos pequeños monstruos los que son algo traviesos. Además, trabaja el conteo hacia atrás.

Another Halloween adapted version. If in the original one monkeys are the ones who jump on the bed and bump their heads, this time it's five monsters who are quite naughty. Plus, it works on counting backwards.

7. This Is The Way We Carve A Pumpkin

¡Vamos a hacer una Jack-o'-lantern! Con esta canción, seguiremos los pasos necesarios para decorar nuestra calabaza al ritmo de "This is the way I...".

Let's make a Jack-o'-lantern! With this song, we'll follow the steps on how to decorate our pumpkin dancing to the "This is the way I..." rhythm.

8. Five Little Pumpkins

En esta canción se trabaja el contar del 1 al 5. Asimismo, se asocia a cada número y calabaza una emoción y su correspondiente acción (feliz - sonreír, triste - llorar...).

Through this song, we will work on counting from 1 to 5. Additionally, each number and pumpkin is associated with an emotion and its corresponding action (happy - smiling, sad, crying...).

9. Can You Make A Happy Face?

¿Serás capaz de imitar todas las caras que hace Jack-o'-lantern? Felicidad, enfado, susto... Esta canción ayuda a identificar la emoción que sentimos con la expresión facial.

Will you be able to mimic all the faces Jack-o'-lantern makes? Happiness, anger, scare... This song helps to identify the emotion we feel with its facial expression.
