Aquí vengo con otro proyecto de Arts, esta vez utilizando la regla para trabajar los colores cálidos y fríos por San Valentín.

Hello, confettis!

Here I am with another Art project, this time using the ruler in order to work on warm and cool colours for Valentine's Day.

En este proyecto hemos utilizado los siguientes materiales:

↠ Folios.
↠ Un lápiz.
↠ Una goma.
↠ Una regla.
↠ Ceras.

In this project we have used the following resources:

↠ Paper sheets.
↠ A pencil.
↠ A rubber.
↠ A ruler.
↠ Wax crayons.

Comenzamos dividiendo el folio en cuatro partes iguales. Como veis, yo en la pizarra les fui escribiendo las distancias a las que tenían que ir poniendo las marcas. Al principio nos llevó mucho tiempo, pero en cuanto le cogieron el "truco" a la regla, ¡todo fue rodado!

We started by dividing the paper sheet into four equal parts. As you can see, I wrote the distances in the whiteboard for them to have a reference. At first, it took us a long time but, as soon as they got used to the ruler, everything ran smoothly!

Para hacer las letras, empezamos primero con puntos en las esquinas y luego los unimos entre ellos. Después, trazamos las líneas del fondo (verticales, horizontales, diagonales y en zig zag).

For making the letters, we started first drawing little dots on each corner and then we joined them. Later, we traced the lines in the background (vertical, horizontal, diagonal and zigzag).

Por último, coloreamos nuestras obras de arte siguiendo una condición: dos letras tenían que seguir tonos cálidos y las otras dos fríos.

Lastly, we coloured our masterpieces following one standard: two letters had to follow warm tones and the other two cool ones.

Esta semana hemos estado trabajando la festividad de San Valentín y, con el fin de reforzar la palabra escrita, he elaborado este librito con el vocabulario principal de este día.

Hello, confettis!

This week we have been working on Valentine's Day and, with the aim of reinforcing the written word, I've created a booklet with the key vocabulary.

Para hacerlo, solo tuvimos que coger la plantilla que veis a continuación.

In order to make it, we only needed to take the template you can see below.

Recortamos los bordes blancos...

We cut out the white borders...

... y luego doblamos por todas las líneas ayudándonos de una regla para asegurarnos de que la doblez quedaba recta.

... and then we folded along every line with the help of a ruler just to ensure each fold was straight.

↠ Corazón.
↠ Carta de amor.
↠ Ramo de flores.
↠ Caja de bombones.
↠ Globos.

Once we had put it together, we wrote the vocabulary under the corresponding picture:

Ya estamos en febrero y yo ya me he puesto manos a la hora para planificar las sesiones que voy a dedicar a San Valentín. Cada vez que trabajamos esta celebración, la introduzco utilizando un cuento y, aunque hay varios que me gustan, mi favorito para cursos bajos es Love Monster de Rachel Bright (en español, Monstruo y el amor).

We're in February and I've already gotten myself to plan the sessions I'm going to focus on Valentine's Day. Every time we work on this festivity, I introduce it using a book and, although there are various ones I like, my favourite one for lower years is Love Monster by Rachel Bright.

¿De qué trata?

La historia tiene como protagonista a Monstruo, quien vive en un mundo de criaturas monísimas que todo el mundo quiere. Pero Monstruo no es tan adorable como el resto y no encuentra a nadie que lo quiera 😔

What is it about?

This story has Monster as its main character, who lives in a world of super cute criatures that everybody love. But Monster is not as pretty as the rest and doesn't find someone who loves him 😔

Así que Monstruo decide coger su maleta e ir a buscar a alguien que lo quiera tal y como es.

So Monster decides to pack his stuff and go look for someone who loves him the way he is.

Monstruo buscó y buscó. Buscó dentro y fuera. Buscó en lugares altos y bajos. Y, cuando ya se había dado por vencido y se iba a ir de vuelta a casa...

Monster looked and looked. He looked inside and outside. He looked high and low. And, when he had just given up and was going back home...

¡encuentra a alguien que lo quiere tal y como es!    ♥    he finds someone who loves him the way he is!

Como veis, la trama es sencilla pero da pie a fomentar una gran cantidad de valores y conceptos, en especial la autoestima y la importancia de querer a las personas tal y como son, sin juzgar las apariencias.

As you can see, the plot is simple, but helps to improve various values and concepts, especially self-esteem and the importance of loving people the way they are, without judging a book by its cover.
