¿Cuántas veces nuestr@s alumn@s nos piden que les pongamos vídeos en clase? Son generaciones que están acostumbradas a una gran cantidad de input audiovisual y muchas veces, tristemente, no lo reciben ni en la cantidad ni en la calidad adecuadas. Es innegable la gran variedad de canciones y vídeos informativos que existe en YouTube. Así que, he hecho una lista con mis 10 canales favoritos que utilizo en mis clases de Inglés y AICLE y que creo que su contenido es beneficioso para el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje.

How many times do our students ask us to play videos in class? They're part of a generation that is used to a big amount of audiovisual input and, frequently and sadly, they don't receive it in the adequate amount and quality. It's undeniable the variety of songs and informative videos that YouTube offers. So, I've created a list with my Top 10 YouTube channels I use in my English and CLIL sessions that have meaningful content that enriches the teaching-learning process. 

¿Quién no conoce Super Simple Songs? Un clásico entre los clásicos. Sus melodías y sus gráficos hacen de este canal un lugar perfecto para buscar canciones que poner en el aula. Busques nursery rhymes, canciones sobre festividades, cuentos cantados... ¡ellos lo tendrán! Además, son los creadores del videoclip de Baby Shark que tanto nos "taró" la cabeza el año pasado 😂

Who doesn't know Super Simple Songs? It's such a classic. Its rhythms and graphics make this channel the perfect place for finding songs to play in your class. Whether you're looking for nursery rhymes, songs about festivities, stories... they will have them! Plus, they're the creators of the Baby Shark video that got into our heads last year 😂

El canal de PlayKids tiene un poco de todo: canciones, tutoriales de manualidades, cuentos e historietas... Todas protagonizadas por un grupo de amig@s animales. En su serie Social Skills for Kids, trabajan las habilidades sociales desde el respetar las normas en los juegos hasta el evitar el acoso escolar. Además, sus canciones incluyen subtítulos con la letra a modo karaoke, lo cual es un plus.

PlayKids channel has a little bit of everything: songs, craft tutorials, tails and stories... They all have an animal group of friends as their main characters. In their series Social Skills for Kids, they work on social skills from respecting the rules when playing to avoiding bullying. Plus, their songs include subtitles with the karaoke lyrics, which is a bonus.

¡Otro canal de música para niñ@s! En The Kiboomers encontrarás canciones. ¿Mis preferidas? Las centradas en festividades, aunque también tienen muchas de conteo muy interesantes. Al igual que pasaba con Super Simple Songs, los gráficos son muy atractivos y el ritmo pegadizo, lo cual facilita su memorización.

Another Kids Music channel! In The Kiboomers you will find songs. My favourite ones? Those focused on festivities, although they have some skip counting ones that are fun too. As it happened with Super Simple Songs, the graphics are super attractive and the rhythm is very catchy, which facilitates memorisation.

Lo que más me gusta del canal de Juny & Tony son sus vídeos sobre los cuentos clásicos cantados y su serie Good Habits Songs sobre hábitos saludables. Pero no solo eso, también tiene nursery rhymes, canciones sobre Ciencias... ¡hasta dibujos dirigidos!

The things I like the most about Juny & Tony channel are their story musical videos and their Good Habits Songs about healthy habits. But not only that, they also have nursery rhymes, Science-related songs... even directed drawings!

Pancake Manor es un canal con un montón de canciones. ¡Son la mar de cañeras! Además, mezclan marionetas con personas de carne y hueso. A mis peques les encantan. Mis favoritos son sus villancicos, pero tienen canciones sobre los colores, los números, nursery rhymes, el abecedario...

Pancake Manor is a channel full of songs. They are such a hit! Plus, they mix puppets and people. My little ones love them. My favourite ones are their carols, but they have songs related to colours, numbers, nursery rhymes, the alphabet...

Los creadores de la canción Baby Shark con coreografía y... ¡superritmo! En PinkFong, aparte de a Baby Shark, podemos encontrar a Hogi, una detective que va resolviendo sus casos a la vez que nos enseña diversos conceptos. Otro de los plus de este canal, es que tiene los cuentos de siempre contados de una forma muy visual, que ayuda a entender la trama. Además, los dibujos son muy atractivos para el alumnado.

The Baby Shark's coreography's creators and... super rhythm! In PinkFong, apart from Baby Shark, we can find Hogi, a detective that goes around solving her cases as well as teaching different concepts. Another pro of this channel, is that it has stories for children told in a very visual way, that helps children to understand the plot. In addition, the drawings are super eye-catching.

Si puedo quedarme con algo del canal de Peekaboo Kidz es The Dr. Binocs Show. Ya os hablé de él en mi Instagram (@colourmeconfetti), y es que esta colección de capítulos es oro puro. Se centra en explicar distintos contenidos de Ciencias Naturales y Ciencias Sociales. Así, el Dr. Binocs va viajando por el planeta, por el cuerpo humano... ¡Lo que toque con tal de hacer atractivo el aprender curiosidades!

If I have to choose something about the Peekaboo Kidz channel it's The Dr. Binocs Show. I already talked about it on my Instagram (@colourmeconfetti). This series is pure gold. It focuses on explaining different Science-related contents. That way, Dr. Binocs travels the world, the human body... Whatever it takes for making learning fun facts more attractive!

Es un canal que mezcla dibujos con personas de carne y hueso. En Bounce Patrol encontraréis numerosas canciones que trabajan nursery rhymes, los colores, la lectura, la comida... ¡Un poco de todo! Mis favoritas son sus canciones sobre... ¡las festividades!

It's a channel that mixes cartoons and people up. In Bounce Patrol you will find songs that work on nursery rhymes, colours, reading, food... A little bit of everything, really! My favourite songs in their channel and the ones related to... festivities!

Los vídeos de Brain Candy TV son más explicativos e informativos. Tienen vídeos sobre la mezcla de colores, experimentos de ciencias, las preposiciones, los cuerpos geométricos... Me encantan sus vídeos de Science, en especial los de cómo funcionan las cosas.

Brain Candy TV videos are more explanatory and informative. They have videos on mixing colours, Science experiments, prepositions, 2D and 3D shapes... I love the Science ones, especially those that explain how things work.

Si buscas vídeos de cuentos en inglés, este es tu canal. En Cool School tienen muchísimos vídeos de cuentos. Además, algunos están divididos en capítulos y son perfectos para trabajar la comprensión oral. También tienen a Super Drew, un superhéroe que protagoniza aventuras destinadas a salvar las celebraciones del año (Earth Day, Mother's Day, Christmas...).

If you're looking for storybook videos, this is your channel. In Cool School you will find loads of videos about children stories. Some of them are divided into chapters and are perfect for working on oral comprehension. They also have Super Drew, a superheroe that stars adventures aimed at saving different festivities throughout the year (Earth Day, Mother's Day, Christmas...).

¿Sabías que puedes diseñar e imprimir tus propios post-its? ¡Un mundo nuevo de posibilidades se abrió ante mí cuando lo descubrí! Y, como profe que soy, empecé a pensar en formas de implementarlo en clase. Ahí es cuando Andrea, de Entre iPads y Cuadernos compartió unas pegatinas para evaluar los trabajos de nuestro alumnado y, claro, no me pude resistir. Así que he diseñado una plantilla con distintas frases para evaluar y proporcionar a mis alumn@s una correcta retroalimentación cuando me entregan sus trabajos 💗 Veamos cómo, en 4 PASOS, tendréis vuestros post-its listos para utilizar.

Did you know you can design and print your own post-it notes? A whole new world of possibilities opened up when I discovered this! And, being a teacher, I started thinking how I could use these in my classroom. That was when Andrea, from Entre iPads y Cuadernos shared the stickers she uses for assessing her students and, of course, I couldn't resist. So, I've designed a template with various quotes for assessing and providing my students with feedback on their work 💗 Let's see how, by following 4 STEPS, you will have your own post-its ready to use.

Algunas veces queremos preparar una clase y no se nos ocurre ninguna idea atractiva que pueda enganchar a nuestr@s alumn@s. Ahí es cuando solemos recurrir a Google o a San Pinterest para ver qué han hecho otr@s profes y así poder inspirarnos. He perdido ya la cuenta de horas que he invertido en pensar y buscar nuevas actividades pero, después de mucho indagar, he dado con una serie de páginas web de descarga de recursos (5 en español y 5 en inglés) que son mi salvación. ¡Y aquí las tenéis!

Sometimes we want to prepare a lesson and we can't come up with an attractive idea that catches our students' attention. That is when we usually go to Google or St. Pinterest in order to see what other teachers have done and get inspired. I have already lost count of the number of hours I have invested in thinking and looking for new activities but, after a lot of research, I have a list of web pages for downloading reasources (5 in Spanish and 5 in English) that are my holy grail. Here you have them!

1. CEIP Loreto

¡Impresionante! El esfuerzo y el tiempo que están invertidos en esta web hacen de CEIP "Nuestra Señora de Loreto" una increíble fuente de recursos. Están clasificados por cursos, asignaturas, contenidos... ¡Incluso por libros de texto! Esta es la página que les facilito a las familias de mi clase para que mis peques repasen los contenidos que estamos trabajando en el aula.

Amazing! The effort and the time that have been invested into this web make CEIP "Nuestra Señora de Loreto" an incredible source of resources. They are organised by year, subject, contents... Even by text books! This is the web page I provide my students' families with for them to revise at home what we're working on in class.

2. Jueduland

Jueduland se trata de una de las páginas que, cuando vamos a la sala de ordenadores, utilizamos. Tiene juegos y materiales para alumn@s desde Educación Infantil hasta 6º de Educación Primaria. Además de por curso, también están organizados por temáticas y en ella encontrarás imprimibles, recursos para la PDI... ¡Nunca terminarás de verlo todo!

Jueduland is another web page that we use when we go to the computer room. It has games and resources for students from Kindergarten to Year 6. Apart from being classified by grade, they are also organised by topic and you will find printables, SMART Board supplies... You'll never finish checking everything out!

3. Mundo Primaria

La web de Mundo Primaria es ¡fantástica! Si es que lo tiene todo: juegos, cuentos, canciones, imprimibles... Y unas imágenes y una estética 😍 Además, dispone de una tienda donde venden unos cuadernillos geniales y también ofrecen cursos de formación enfocados tanto a familias como a docentes.

The Mundo Primaria web is fantastic! It has everything: games, stories, songs, printables... And the images and the aesthetic are 😍 Plus, it includes a shop where they sell great booklets and offer online training for both families and teachers.

4. Orientación Andújar

Orientación Andújar es otra de mis imprescindibles a la hora de descargar material. Esta web que comenzó como un banco de actividades para docentes del centro en el que Maribel trabajaba, se ha convertido en un espacio de referencia a nivel nacional. Y es que no es para menos. Hay cuentos con pictogramas, escritura creativa, matemáticas, bits de inteligencia... Además, no solo incluyen material de elaboración propia, sino que también comparten recursos diseñados por otros docentes.

Orientación Andújar is another one of my musts when it comes to downloading resources. This web started as an activity bank for teachers that worked in the school Maribel did. Now it has become a national benchmark. No wonder why! There are storybooks with pictograms, creative writing, Maths, intelligence bits... Moreover, not only do they include original resources, but they also share activities designed by other educators.

5. Recursos EP

En Recursos EP encontraréis un montón de material para alumnado de Educación Primaria. Al igual que en Orientación Andújar, tienen actividades de elaboración propia y también diseñadas por docentes que quieran compartir lo que les ha funcionado en su aula. Tenéis material de ABN, comprensión lectora, idiomas... ¡De todo!

In Recursos EP you will find a lot of activities aimed at Primary Education students. As it happened with Orientación Andújar, they have original resources and others that have been designed by teachers who want to share everything that has been a success in their sessions. You have ABN activities, reading comprehension ones, language worksheets... A little bit of everything!

The crown jewel! Who hasn't heard someone say: "it's available in TpT"? TpT is a web page where teachers from different countries share originally made resources (free or paid). 7. Mrs Mactivity

En Mrs Mactivity encontrarás un montón de manualidades y actividades gratuitas para el aula y una gran cantidad de inspiración. ¡Y es que los diseños son súper monos y atractivos para el alumnado! ¿Mis favoritos? Los "paper plate crafts" (manualidades con platos de papel).
Además, puedes hacerte miembro por 9.97£ al año y tener acceso a todo su material (imprimibles, atención plena, rimas infantiles, actividades temáticas...).

In Mrs Mactivity you will find a lot of free crafts and activities for your classroom and a huge amount of inspiration. Their designs are super cute and attractive for our students! My favourite ones? The paper plate crafts.

TES comenzó como un suplemento educativo de la revista Times y ha evolucionado a una web que es ya referente para docentes que emplean la lengua inglesa a nivel mundial. Aquí no solo encontraréis recursos (gratuitos y de pago) para vuestro aula, sino que también se ofertan trabajos para aquell@s que estéis buscando trabajar en Reino Unido, Australia...

Registrarse es gratuito (con tu email, cuenta de Google o Facebook) y podéis incluir vuestro CV.

TES started as a pull-out supplement in The Times newspaper and has developed a website that is now a referent for teachers that use English around the world. And not only will you find classroom resources (free and paid), but also job offers for those of you who are looking forward to work in the UK, Australia...

You can register for free (with your email, Google account or Facebook) and you can include your CV.

9. Primary Resources

Primary Resources es una web de actividades gratuitas en inglés que vienen en gran cantidad de formatos: Word, PDF, PowerPoint... No es necesario registrarse y, además de actividades, también incluyen unidades didácticas e infinidad de imprimibles.

Primary Resources is a web page with free activities in English that come in various format files: Word, PDF, PowerPoint... You don't need to get registered and, apart from activities, they also include lesson plans and a myriad of printables.

10. Teaching Ideas

Teaching Ideas está lleno de actividades gratuitas que llevar a cabo en tu aula. ¿Mi sección favorita? Tienen recursos clasificados por diferentes cuentos. Por ejemplo, si escribes "The Gruffalo" en el buscador, te saldrán todas las ideas que te proponen para trabajar dicho cuento.
Además, han creado la web Teaching Packs donde se pueden conseguir unidades didácticas ya listas por 17.50£ al año.

Teaching Ideas is full of free activities to carry out in your classroom. My favourite section? They have resources classified by books. For example, if you write "The Gruffalo" in the search bar, you will find all of the activities they suggest you can do with it.

Hoy os he enseñado por Instagram (@colourmeconfetti) este pequeño robot que vamos a incluir en nuestra dinámica de aula. Se trata de Next 2.0 y es de la editorial Edelvives. Al estar en el primer ciclo, este es el robot que nos corresponde. Mis compañeras de Educación Infantil tienen el Next 1.0 y de 3º a 6º de Primaria tenemos pendiente implantar Lego Education WeDo 2.0.

Today I have shared on Instagram (@colourmeconfetti) this little robot that we are going to include in our lessons. It's called Next 2.0 and its from Edelvives, a publishing house. As we are in Primary 2, this is our robot. Kindergarten teachers in my school have Next 1.0 and we have yet to implement Lego Education WeDo 2.0 from Primary 3 to 6.

El robot viene con una caja con varios tapetes de diferentes contenidos y asignaturas: Lengua, Matemáticas, Ciencias Sociales y Ciencias Naturales.

The robot comes with a box with various mats of different content and subjects: Spanish, Maths, Social Sciences and Natural Sciences.


¿Lo mejor? ¡Además incluye un tapete con bolsillos transparentes para que metamos las flashcards que queramos! 😍

The best part? It includes a plastic mat with different pockets for us to place whatever flashcards we want! 😍


Hoy lo hemos utilizado por primera vez en nuestra sesión semanal de Mates divertidas y... ¡ha sido todo un éxito! ¿Cómo funciona? El robot se coloca en una de las cuadrículas y tiene que llegar a otra. Para ello, l@s alumn@s tendrán que pensar en el itinerario que quieren seguir y pulsar en los botones la secuencia correcta. Una vez listo, pulsarán "play" y... ¡Next comenzará su camino!

Los botones son los siguientes:
1. De frente.
2. Atrás.
3. Giro a la derecha.
4. Giro a la izquierda.
5. Play - para que el robot inicie la secuencia.
6. Pausa.
7. X - Eliminar lo que hemos pulsado.

Today we've tried it for the first time in our Maths fun weekly session and... it's been a huge success! How does it work? The robot has to be placed on a square and has to get to another one. In order to do that, students will have to think of the path they want to follow and press the different buttons. Once they're ready, they will press "play" and... Next will begin his journey!

The buttons are the following ones:
1. Forward.
2. Backwards.
3. Turn right.
4. Turn left.
5. Play - for the robot to start the string.
6. Pause.
7. X - erase what we've pressed. 



My little ones have had a great time and there wasn't a kid who wasn't paying attention. We've seen different paths that lead to the same point, we've identified various ways of representing a number... I've also made them think of a path that goes through certain spots. The possibilities are endless!


Además, al ver el camino que sigue Next en base a lo que han pulsado, es autocorrectivo, pues han visto que, dependiendo de la perspectiva, las instrucciones varían. Por ello, han probado diferentes combinaciones colaborando para que Next llegase a su destino. Como veis, hemos trabajado la orientación espacial, la lateralidad, la estimación, la secuenciación... y, por supuesto, los contenidos curriculares.

In addition, as they saw the path Next was following based on what they had pressed, it's a self-correcting resource, as they have seen that, depending on the perspective, instructions change. That's why, they've tried various combinations in order to help Next achieve his goal. As you can see, we've worked on spatial orientation, laterality, estimating, sequencing... and, of course, curricular content.
